BRIEF HISTORY OF KAKAWATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Barangay Kaybanban, is a barangay situated on the hilly area at the eastern part of the municipality of San Jose del Monte with an approximate distance of 17 kilometers from the town proper. It is agricultural area thus people in the area their living through highland farming.
By virtue of referendum in 1991, dividing big barangay in the municipality Purok 4 and Purok 5 separated from the mother barangay and was named as Paradise III where the school is situated. Kakawate Primary School was established offering primary education to serve the children when Mr. Cesario G. Nasario and Mrs. Remedios V. Nasario donated a parcel of land for educational purpose measuring 6575 square meters in 1966. The school got its name because of the presence of “ Madre Cacao” locally known as Kakawate which were planted in the area that served as perimeter fence and preventive medium of soil erosion. The children were having their classes at the barangay hall until a Marcos Type two classroom building erected in 1966. Mr. Conrado Heron and Mr. Cruz were among the first teachers assigned in the school and in 1972; Mrs. Miriam Mariano and Mrs. Rosalina Cataniag were added to the roster of faculty. The school became a complete elementary school and named as Kakawate Elementary School during the school year 1988-1989 with the leadership of Mrs. Miriam C. Mariano who served as head school, Mrs. Amelia Cruz as the District Supervisor and Dr. Bienvenido Yap as the Schools Division Superintendent of Bulacan. |
